English teaching to Albanians to begin soon!

From the desk of Mike and Geralyn Hull. Your Help is Needed! Edi is still looking for 15 more teachers to pair with interested Albanian speakers.  You can view the video that Adam/Avery/Tricia made of two Albanian English students who you may have met in June when they visited us.

Here is the video:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rpjh5w8yQ2nyrN4SmMAgzVFa6y5iiL92/view?usp=drive_link

This is not to set expectations that many Albanians take Jesus as their savior as a result of the English classes!   But it was extremely encouraging for Geralyn and me that both Selvije and Alonso were saved!   But they are two of maybe 15 or 20 students we have worked with over the last 4 years.  Nevertheless, each teacher is one link in the chain of Spirit authored events that move students to meeting Jesus and taking Him as THEIR savior!

Please consider investing 2 hours of your time per week for the 10 weeks that this next session of classes will run.   The classes are scripted out clearly and it is easy to work through the homework and then have the conversations on Whatsapp.   And every person I've met with has been fun to work with!

See the email for Lisa Swab below to register as a teacher along with other details.  Lisa is the US based coordinator for the coming class which will start in early October.

Hello CFC "Interested in Albania" team,

I hope you are all doing well as the summer wraps up and that you have kept up with the Demos' newsletters about their summer ministries - quite amazing per today's email update!  If you do not yet get either the email newsletters or the snail mail copies from the Illyricum Movement, please let me know and I can help arrange that for you.

I heard from Pastor Edi twice since he and Bona traveled to Cedar Sinai for her kidney transplant recheck, and he says that so far, the testing on Bona's kidney is looking good - we can praise the Lord with them and continue to pray that the kidney remains without signs of rejection in the continued testing and into the future.

The main reason I am writing is to remind you that the next session for online English teaching to Albanians (now named "Online English Gospel Conversation" per the Illyricum Movement) begins at the end of September.  I asked the main contact for this program when teachers need to register for this session and she wrote back that the sooner the better at this point - in September before the session starts would be ideal.  However they will allow teachers to sign up until October 15th.

If you would like to sign up to be a teacher in this session, simply email Lisa Swab at: office@illyricum.org

Please include in your email a short bio about yourself (this helps the program "match" you to some degree with your "student") and also include your phone number.  This helps them expedite the sign-up process.

If you need more information on what this program is about, please take a look at this info, pasted from the Illyricum Movement newsletter:

On September 28th at 11 AM Pacific Time, we are having the Online Training Session.

How does it work? We encourage solid American believers to spend one hour per week for ten weeks, meeting online with an Albanian and sharing the Gospel with them using English as a tool. It is a fantastic evangelistic opportunity.
If you are considering becoming part of this project, please contact us  at: office@illyricum.org
If you would like to have more information, please visit our website: https://www.illyricum.org/how-you-can-help

In addition, there are a number of CFCers who have participated in this ministry, the most productive and most recent being Mike & Geralyn Hull, who I am sure would be glad to talk to you about their experiences.  Mike's email is:  mbh3205@outlook.com  I also would be glad to answer any questions you have.

I sincerely believe this is a wonderful opportunity for anyone to make an impact for the Lord in Albania, even if you could never travel to Albania.  If you can speak English and you are a Believer in Jesus you can do this!  It takes 1 hour a week, the curriculum is all ready for you, and the students are open to hearing what you believe and love to practice normal conversation with you.  Please consider it and ask the Lord if this is something you should look into!
